1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information BFF (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, how we use it, and your choices. It applies to our iOS app and website located at bff.show.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to operate BFF:

• Account Information: Instagram handle, optional age group, profile photo (userpic), preferred language.
• Quiz Content: Questions and answers you create.
• Replies & Photos: When friends take your quiz, we store their answers and, if they choose to share, a selfie photo to reveal the score.
• Device & App Data: Device token for push notifications, app version, basic device info.
• Technical Data: IP address, user-agent, time zone, language settings, referrer, and basic viewport size. On the web, this is used to ensure the service works correctly and to prevent abuse.
• Permissions: Camera/photos access (to capture or upload a photo). Push notifications (to notify quiz owners about replies). We do not access your microphone or precise location.

3. How We Use Information

• Operate, maintain, and improve the app and website.
• Deliver core features (creating quizzes, capturing selfies to reveal scores, sending push notifications).
• Personalize the experience (e.g., show your handle and userpic on your quiz page).
• Protect the service, prevent fraud and abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
• Comply with legal obligations.

4. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service Providers that help us host and deliver BFF (e.g., cloud hosting, content storage, and Apple Push Notification service). They may process data on our behalf under contracts.
• Legal/Compliance when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites for targeted advertising.

5. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide BFF. You can delete your account from Settings → Delete account in the app. Quiz replies (including selfies) are retained for the quiz owner to view; if you want a reply removed, contact us.

6. Your Choices & Rights

• Access/Update/Delete: Manage your profile in the app. To request full deletion or data export, email ptashym@gmail.com.
• Camera/Photos: You can deny permissions in system settings. Without camera/photos permission, some features (selfie reveal, userpic) may be limited.
• Push Notifications: You can disable notifications in system settings.
• Do Not Track: We do not use cross-app tracking or targeted advertising.

7. Children’s Privacy

BFF is not directed to children under the age where consent is required in your region (e.g., under 13 in the U.S.). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child used BFF without permission, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

8. International Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. We take steps to protect your data in accordance with this policy.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

10. Data Summary for App Store

Data Linked to You: Contact identifiers (handle), user content (quizzes, selfies), device identifiers (push token), and diagnostics/technical data (IP, user-agent). Used for app functionality, account management, and communications. Not used for third‑party advertising or tracking across apps.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this policy. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app.
